New Artistic Director for New Vic, Newcastle-under-Lyme

A welcome to the region for Orla O'Loughlin who has been appointed as the new artistic director of Pentabus.  She has replaced Theresa Heskins, who is leaving to become the new Artistic Director at the New Vic, Newcastle-under-Lyme.  Congratulations to both, who will bring their own talent and vibrancy to their new posts.

Fraser Grace is the joint winner of the Arts Council sponsored John Whiting Award for new theatre writing for his play Breakfast with Mugabe (RSC and West End).  Fraser has been a mentor, a reader and a friend and supporter of Script and Stagecoach for some years and we wish him well on his recent success.

Nigel Pocknell, Chair of Big Script, Birmingham, was one of six winners out of 100 entrants to a Monologue and Duologue competition put on by Muse and Music Society, based in Horsham and London.  Nigel wrote and performed a duologue, with his RADA-trained daughter-in-law Sophie.  They will be reprising their performance on Sunday, 26 November at the Old Town Hall in Horsham , West Sussex.  Well done Nigel.

Colleen Muldoon-Taylor's radio play Cut Out will be aired on BBCRadio 4 at 2.15pm on Wednesday, 29 November.  We're especially pleased to hear this news as Colleen met producer Kate Chapman at a Script radio writing workshop a couple of years ago and the idea for her play took off from there.  We'll all be listening.
