WRITING FOR RADIO WITH LUCY GOUGH

Playwright Lucy Gough leads a practical and stimulating workshop on the art and craft of writing for radio.  Using examples of produced plays, together with written exercises, the participants will explore the tools that help create a layered narrative soundscape.

Lucy Gough has written for radio, theatre and television, including TV programmes Hollyoaks and Doctors.  Her radio work includes Our Lady of Shadows (BBC Radio 3), Head (BBC Radio 4), and a 15-episode adaptation of Wuthering Heights for Woman's Hour (BBC Radio 4)

RADIO ONLINE...

 

A collaboration between Script, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and BBC Radio.

'I just wanted to say thank you very much for the two workshops. It was a fantastic opportunity. I really enjoyed both of them and came away feeling inspired.' Radio Online participant.

30 people attended initial workshops and 15 people submitted scripts for this scheme. The three succesful applicants are: Rebecca Barton, Tim Kiely and Helen Monks. You can listen to the plays by following the links below. They were also 'broadcast' as part of the Transmissions Festival at Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
